Architecture and Landscape Exhibition in Chinatown

STUDIO CHINATOWN

An exhibition of urban design projects and narratives created by UBC
students of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and History.

January 25 - February 1, 2004
* Sunday, January 25 2:30 pm: Chinese New Year Celebration Opening Event
* Friday, January 30 6:30 pm: Official Opening of the new Community Studio
in Chinatown (with music and performing arts):

Chinese Cultural Center Museum Complex
555 Columbia Street
Vancouver, BC

This exhibit is a collaboration between thirty-two students from the UBC
School of Architecture, the Department of Landscape Architecture, and the
Department of History. The projects explore various interpretations of
what makes Chinatown 'Chinatown' within the context of contemporary
Vancouver, and envision diverse possibilities for community
revitalization.

We are also celebrating the opening of our new permanent design studio
within the community, Studio Chinatown. This space will serve not only
as a teaching environment, but also as a locus for community discussions
and gatherings between students and the general public.
