Lecture by Dr. Kay Li
Research Associate, Asian Institute
Dr. Kay Li is a Research Associate at the Asian Institute, University of Toronto, conducting research
on cultural globalization. She has been working on transnational culture since her graduate studies
at the University of Toronto and York University. Being one of the founders of the International
Shaw Society, Dr. Li has published on transnational literary and cultural transmission such as Bernard
Shaw and China, Virginia Woolf and China, Bernard Shaw and Hong Kong, and intersections of arts and
technologies in contemporary films. Courses taught include Contemporary Arts and Technologies at
the Department of Fine Arts Cultural Studies, York University, and courses on Cultural Globalization
at the Department of Global Studies, Wilfrid Laurier University. Her book manuscript entitled
"Bernard Shaw, China and Cultural Globalization" is currently under review at the University Press
of Florida Bernard Shaw Series.
