The Process presents
Crossing
by C.E. Gatchalian on Friday January 23 at 8 pm

Crossing dramatizes the tormented relationship of Lucy, a young mother, and Kieren, her teenage son. Throughout the course of an evening, they engage in sadistic memory games, intent to push the other closer to the edge through peek-a-boo revelations of past horrible truths. Religious overtones are very strong in the play, particularly in its structure, which is based largely on the mass proper for Good Friday. The play also wrestles with the Easter archetype, and the grand Christian themes of the death and resurrection of Christ.

"Gatchalian is well on his way to making his mark in contemporary drama." Charlie Cho, CBC Radio

"If a writer expunges demons by putting them down on paper, Gatchalian's young soul must now be clean as a whistle...Claire is evidence of greater, and no doubt even more disturbing, things to come from the writer." Peter Birnie, The Vancouver Sun
