Tai-Gu Tales Dance Theatre was founded in 1988, in Taipei, Taiwan by choreographer, dancer, producer and artistic director Hsiu-Wei Lin. The word tai represents the chaos of the world at the time of its origins: a world without boundaries. The word gu represents history: an eternity of time spanning generations. The Company consists of twelve dancers. All of the female dancers have received modern dance training, while the male dancers were Chinese opera actors.
