Call for Expression of Interest

Renfrew Park Community Centre Recognition Wall Project

The Renfrew Park Community Association is interested in involving a local
artist to design and create a Recognition Wall to recognize the
contributions of individuals, foundations and businesses towards the capital
building improvements to Renfrew Park Community Centre. The design must
allow for the addition of future donors onto the Recognition Wall.

The Recognition Wall will be located in the pool lobby area at the main
entrance of the community centre. The dimension of the space is 5 ft. high
by 26 ft. long.

MATERIALS/BUDGET
Materials need to be durable and able to attach to a concrete wall. Similar
materials will need to be available in the future in order to add the names
of additional donors.

The total budget for this project is $4,000.00 (maximum). These funds will
include: design, artist fee, labour, equipment, supplies and GST if
applicable. The cost of installation will be the responsibility of Renfrew
Park Community Association.

TIMELINE
Submission: A one-page proposal to include a draft design, implementation plan and estimated budget to centre office by 4:00 p.m. by Monday, September 13, 2004.

Shortlist: Three artists will be short-listed and notified by September
17th; each will be asked to create a more detailed plan to be submitted by
4:00 p.m. on September 27th, 2004. Each of the short-listed artists will
receive a $100 honorarium for the detailed plan and will be notified of the
final selection by October 1st.

The chosen artist must have their work completed and ready to install by
Monday, November 22nd, 2004.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
* A one page proposal which will include the draft design, dimensions,
materials, implementation plan and estimated budget;
* Your current resume, including past relevant experience, public art
projects, schooling, current contact information, etc.;
* Five - ten slides of previous work, labelled with title, materials, etc;
