and Percussionist Pt. Bhavani Shankar
Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia is known internationally as the greatest living master of Bansuri, the North Indian bamboo flute. He has significantly expanded the expressive possibilities of North Indian classical flute through his masterful blowing technique. He has won a number of prestigious awards in recognition of his mastery and work. Pt. Bhavani Shankar was born into a distinguished musical family, beginning his study of pakhawaj and tabla at the tender age of eight. He is a versatile performer who has accompanied many of India's finest musicians. Joining these two masters are Debopriya Chatterjee Ranadive on flute (bansuri) and Rimpa Shiva on tabla.
