Dig is the story of three Canadian archaeologists in China searching
for evidence of the legendary Xia civilization. Set on an
archaeological dig, the play's characters seek to uncover China's
ancient past at the same time as they delve into each other's
secrets and desires, past and present. Music, projected images,
movement and poetry take over the narrative when ordinary words
don't suffice, releasing the protagonists' secrets like fragments of
bright pottery revealed from beneath centuries of dirt. Dig is a
story of intrigue, love and the importance of continuing to ask
questions, even in the absence of clear answers.
