LAST CHANCE FOR TAIKO DRUMMING!

There are just 2 Beginner Workshops left - the evenings of Wednesday,
October 13, and Monday, October 18. Looking for a new experience? The
Kita No Taiko Japanese drumming group would like you to join us for a
workshop.

Learning our art form is fun and great exercise! In fact, it's a
blast! We build great community spirit within ourselves and contribute
to Edmonton's spirit through lively performances throughout the year.

We give performances all over western Canada and at some international
venues. We have performed with the Edmonton Symphony; for the Heritage
Days celebrations, been part of a film, and we have entertained a
Japanese Princess (see website for more).


Taiko drumming is based on ancient Japanese culture. Drumming groups
are active all over the world. We honor this ancient tradition by the
quality and discipline of our workshops, practices and performances.
Recruits attend three levels of workshops and interested individuals
may be chosen to apprentice with the group, but the workshops are
intended to allow you to learn why we are passionate about playing the
Japanese drums.

We perform for many organizations and companies, as well as assist the
Japanese consul when needed to infuse lively Japanese music for various
occasions.
