TELLERS NEEDED - THE PACIFIC NATIONAL EXHIBITION

WHAT: The VSOS will be producing a one-hour storytelling show at this year’s P.N.E Mainstage. We have been selected by the City of Vancouver Jury to be the featured society/festival as apart of their new showcase series.

WHEN: Monday, August 22, 2005 (You must be available from 1:00 PM – 6:00PM (no exceptions to this time)

There will also be a meeting and a rehearsal that you will be required to attend. (approx. time commitment 4hrs)

TYPES OF STORIES: Your story must relate to Vancouver, Vancouver life, tales and/or history. Generally, the story must relate to Vancouver. Topics are broad but stories must fit into one of the groups (see groups below)

DURATION OF STORY: 5 minutes (no more/ no less)

SUBMISSION: You must submit your audition tape (Cassette/DVD/VIDEO). This tape must include ONLY the 5 minute story that you will tell.

We must also receive a photo/Headshot – on Disc.(We do not have a scanner in the office so all photos must be on disc or emailed in tiff or jpeg format.)

A Bio of 40 words (max)

GROUPS: Tellers’ stories must fall into ONE of the following groups: (Please let us know which one you are applying for)

1. CHILDREN’S STORIES RELATING TO VANCOUVER (2-3 Tellers)
2. FOLK TALES ABOUT VANCOUVER or BC (2-3 Tellers)
3. TRUE STORIES ABOUT VANCOUVER (2-3 Tellers)
4. YOUNG TELLERS/SPOKEN WORD/ (teller must be 29 and under the) (2-3 Tellers)

PAYMENT: ALL PERFORMERS WILL BE PAID FOR THEIR PERFORMANCE, THOUGH THE AMOUNTS HAVE NOT YET BEEN CONFIRMED. YOU MUST BE A PAID MEMBER OF THE VSOS TO AUDITION.

PLEASE NOTE: NO AUDITION MATERIALS WILL BE RETURNED. You can arrange to come into the office to pick up any materials.
