CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Open Studio, Canada's leading print media centre, is accepting submissions for our Exhibition, Visiting Artist and Guest Renter Programs

SUBMISSIONS DEADLINE:
All submissions must be postmarked on or before September 15, 2005

Exhibition Program:
Submissions are being accepted to exhibit in the Open Studio Gallery for the period between October 2006 and June 2007.

The Open Studio Gallery promotes and exhibits contemporary works by artists working in any print media and/or incorporating printmaking techniques into their work. Proposals by individual artists, groups and curators will be considered. CAR/FAC Artist Fees are paid. Work proposed must be print media based.

Visiting Artist Program:
Submissions will be accepted from artists to realize a project in any printmaking media with the assistance of our collaborative printers. The program is open to professional artists with or without printmaking experience who wish to use any print medium to create traditional and/or experimental works in a variety of formats (for example: one-of-a-kind multiples, wall works, installations, bookworks, etc).

The projects selected will be scheduled between September 2006 and May 2007. Benefits include: *collaborative printer assistance, awarded on a project-by-project basis *1 month free access to Open Studio's facilities *Up to $300 supply credit *$150 honorarium for guest lecturers * Participation in a 2-person Visiting Artist exhibition in the OS Gallery (CAR/FAC Artist Fees are paid).

Guest Renter Program:
Each year, Open Studio accepts two Guest Renters who are established printmakers. This program allows artists to work independently in the studio for one month, rent-free between September 2006 and May 2007. Guest Renters are responsible for securing their own funding to cover travel and accommodation expenses if necessary. Artists will also pay the appropriate studio area supply fee during their residency and will be required to sign the standard studio rental contract.

TO APPLY:
Submissions should include up to 12 slides of proposed work, detailed slide list, exhibition proposal/statement, a current curriculum vitae and a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the safe return of your slides and materials. For the Visiting Artist submission, please include what technical assistance will be required, as well as preferred dates. Please note: If you are applying for more than one program, separate complete packages must be submitted.

RESULTS:
