Asian Canadian Bedtime Stories Contest: Creating a Legacy of Cultural Diversity
Ricepaper magazine is pleased to announce its first annual Asian Canadian Bedtime Stories Contest. The magazine seeks fun, witty and imaginative bedtime stories about Asian Canadians to be considered for publication to a national audience. The contest is open to readers of all ethnic backgrounds.
Created as part of the 2010 Arts Now program, the goal of the contest is to create a literary tradition for the many children of Asian immigrants to Canada, and also to strengthen family bonds and instill pride in young people for their cultural identity.
Ricepaper seeks to revitalize the storytelling tradition through its contest by publishing original bedtime stories in the Summer 2006 issue.
