Sony again delays start of "Home" virtual world for the PlayStation 3

TOKYO - Sony is delaying the start of its Home virtual world for its PlayStation 3 video game machine until the second half of this year.

Sony Corp.'s gaming unit said Tuesday that Home will be offered for PlayStation 3 owners sometime after August.

It said a limited test service is set for around midyear.

The announcement marks the second delay for the interactive online service, which was initially promised for last year.

Last September, Sony delayed Home's debut until early 2008 to spend more time to create a better product.
